If he pulls out a knife and is jabbing at you when you are subduing him - then yes, you may be ok to snap the neck BUT you could also release him and jump away to a safe distance.

A trained fighter can close 6 feet in a second...... I agree that if the cop had something less lethal he should have deployed it, but at the same time once you pull a gun you better be ready to fire it, otherwise it's going to be used against you. You can't go into hand to hand combat once you've pulled the gun, at that point it's a gunfight.

The guy that was shot held all the cards, he chose to advance on a guy holding a gun on him.

But once again, here we go with people taking one man's situation, and justifying ALL of the police shootings across America as if they all were the same person. Trevon Martin was an individual who was not tied to this person. MIchael Brown was an individual as well, who had nothing to do with this guy. Yet, because they are black, they are paying the price for crimes that other men commit who are black, and for crimes that were committed years after they were killed. And people think it's justified based on this video here.
