An AK47 round is definitely bigger than an M16... AK47 uses a 7.62mm vs the M16 5.56mm. Not even close. M16s are know to penetrate due to the small bullet size and high velocity. AK47 is the opposite, larger but slower bullet...
This wasn’t an AK47. AK74 which shoots 5.45 not the 7.62 the AK47 shoots
