This is nonsense. The dog was endangering the man's life so self-defence applies within reason. The intent of knifing the dog would be to get it to stop its behaviour, which possibly can only be achieved through killing the dog. After such an incident, if the owner of the dog is insane enough to pursue a court claim for harm done to the dog, a judge could take a look at it. Given the death of the other party, any judge would throw out such a case and send the owner of the dog to jail for the dog being dangerously out of control.

The dogs are going to be put down so at least try to kill them or seriously injure them to save the man's life. Apparently you're supposed to either choke them or stick your fingers in its nostrils to make it un-clamp it's jaws.

Our next door neighbours have one of these dogs and we hear it attacking the owners and their other dog all the time so hopefully they'll have to surrender it as I am terrified of it getting loose and into our house. They are bred for violence and to kill, chavs get them as a weapon, they don't train them and some poor sod ends up paying for it with their life
