-GED will be tough... Competition will be HS grads or some college.
-Spotless criminal record these days is almost a requirement.
-Credit check now a days is another look at recruits. Poor credit may disqualify people. (integrity issues)
-For being a pilot, you have to have bachelors and go to flight school in the Navy.
-If you want to fly, you will have to be NROTC in some college or go to the Naval Academy.

Not to burst your bubble and ruin any type of hopes... You can do whatever it takes to get there, its just whether you commit to it and put it to action!!!

yeah I knew of ROTC when I was in high school just didn't realize what it was,I just hope I can get in before I am 40 time is going so fast it's literally a race against the clock. I'm 25 right now, some of these classes can be up to 6 years. I refuse to be an Army pilot, just because they have one big ass chopper I do not want to fly.That is the Boeing CH-47 chinook that's a limo for helicopters, I want a smooth Cadillac coop with heavy fire power. I'd prefer the AH-1 Cobra Marine chopper, or the Boeing AH-64 Apache Marine Chopper.You know kids don't know jack shit what they want tell they get older, school's should be mandated to have every student qualified in all areas to Braden up the job's they can apply to. Just a spark of frustration for the moment, going to be climbing the educational ladder size of mount everest.

Understood... I did 2 decades with a uniform on.. Its never too late to get your education... I have what the Navy gave me as an education and experience. Im 41 and I still go to school.. Dont be discouraged. Just have a long and short term plan.

I am getting it under control, going to be moving going to take G.E.D classes on line then same with the G.E.D test combined $ investment
of $199.00 just to get on my way to the actual college classes start too marrow. long term plan were I live their is a Boeing when I retire from the Marines I want to work their, be a mechanic or test pilot won't be far from home or the family. I just want to get it done as fast as possible, I don't have time to waste reality hit me hard.

You do know that the CH-47 is not the only helicopter in the US Army, right? UH-60 Black Hawk, AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopter, OH-58 Kiowa Warrior.

Confirm all your options before you refuse anything. If you join the Army as an enlisted Soldier, you can put in your Warrant Officer packet and fly some of the better machines in the US military. You will not be able to fly anything in the USMC as a Warrant. You will need a commission to do so.
