You will do what you have to to be able to cope with a situation like that, even if you piss on some dead corpses. Is it worse to piss on a dead body, or saw someone's fucking head off and post it for the whole world to see ?

It is strange what people assume sometimes. I am as guilty as anyone else on here, and I admit it. I don't know, some people on here act like we are the lowest of the low because we have no problem with soliders pissing on a corpse.

Because I have no problem with that, does that mean I want them to piss on all of them ? Does it mean I want them to do that to all the people they come across ? No. Our soldiers have done some rather horrible things at times, but no worse than the taliban. Yes, these soldiers have went of their own free will, and had some idea that when they arrived, they would see some bad shit.

I do not think they realized how bad it would be, but they went anyway. That is called BRAVERY. There is no bravery without fear. It is a proven fact that if a human being is exposed to prolonged events of pure fear and terror, it kills parts of the brain. That as you would imagine results in brain damage. I know you understand Vamooska, but others seem as though they don't, or don't want to.

That is not saying they are excused of their actions, but people should think about things before they jump to one concrete conclusion. I think it was some scientists at Harvard that did some rather revealing studies. They started showing instances where people were exsposed to prolonged fear had some intense episodes of outbursts, and some strange behavior.

They started to conclude that these people's brains were dying in certain parts, and that was the brain's way of dealing with the memories that were so traumatic. On the other hand, it did not just kill the parts were the memories were, it killed other parts of the brain as well. I guess it was the brain's way of dealing with the lesser of two evils.

For all of you folks that say what they did was wrong, yes it was. However, have you ever had anyone try to kill you ? If so, you know it sucks. Now, take that horrible situation and multiply it. Imagine being scared all day everyday, because some people are too chickenshit to fight outright.

That does not go for all of them, ok ? I remember when the war started in Afghanistan, a general was talking about them being a very agressive enemy. They would ride up on horses and on foot, taking on US tanks. Ok, so they had to change tactics to survive. Understanable to say the least.

Those tactics should not have included hiding in villages of innocent people, especially children. And they threatened the villagers with death if they talked, not just killing them, but their entire family. What kind of chickenshit son of a bitch does that ? Well, unfortunately we now know, because this shit happens from time to time.

War is hell, and it will destroy your mind, I do not give a shit how mentally stable you think you are. Imagine being afraid every day that an enemy that takes advantage of innocent people by blending in with them, using them as human shields, and threatening their entire family if they talk.

That is scarey enough huh ? That will warp your mind bad enough, but take into account that that same enemy uses IEDs to kill most of the soldiers they do kill. With them fighting like a pussy, torturing innocent villagers, and usually taking out a number of your fellow soldiers with IEDs, what would that do to your mind ? Is it any surprise that when they do finally get to see the enemy, they do shit like this ?

Let some pussy kill a bunch of your friends, hide like chickenshits behind innocent people, and see what you would do when you finally caught up with
them.

My nephew went to Iraq, at Camp Anaconda. I told him before he joined that he did not know what he was getting himself into. Of course he would not listen, and now has PTSD. He had to scrape up 3 of his closest friends, and it fucked him up.

I can't even imagine what it must be like to experience war.
I have a friend who did 2 tours in Afghanistan and its not something that's talked about..... I don't ask, he doesn't volunteer much either, but I've heard sometimes if he gets a few too many beers into him bits & pieces of what he's seen come out.
IMHO living through a war is only part of it, living the rest of your life with what you've see and experienced would probably be equally hard.....
