Two People Electrocuted Taking a Morning Stroll

10 June 2019
India

Two people were electrocuted when they accidentally stepped on a downed power line submerged under pooled stormwater on a narrow street early Monday morning. Heavy rain and a falling tree branch was the reason for the snapped line.

A newspaper boy had found the two bodies who were later identified as R., 70, and P.K., 55.

While going to work as a maid at a nearby house, 'P' was the first to go.

After some time, when he was passing by, 'R' noticed her lying in the waterlogged road. As he went towards her, he too received an electric shock. Both died on the spot.

Another Darwin award winner here. He obviously had plenty of warning, but instead of clearing out stuck his nose in further until he got zapped.

Wow.. lab mice in controlled tests show more intelligent responses when presented with the possibility of electric shock.

Re: Two People Electrocuted Taking a Morning Stroll

After watching a few of these videos...I got really paranoid! Like WTAF? What do we need to know? How do we know we can get electrocuted? What about when we don’t see the wires in a flooded area?
I have also seen pole wire laying across the road in perfectly normal weather, would that be dangerous to walk/drive near them?

Also to those making it seem like he deserved it...how was he supposed to know she hadn’t collapsed from a medical issue...? If he walked on by or decided to turn around and go about his business, you would be spewing the usual shithole country bullshit you do. So he’d be damned if he did and damned if he didn’t.

Re: Two People Electrocuted Taking a Morning Stroll

Fresh water does not conduct electricity very well. It looks like he had to make it all the way and make contact with the wires themselves before he got zapped. (If that’s actually what happened here)

He approached the body, then he felt a shock once.

Now, reaction analysis:

Intelligent person's reaction:
Back away immediately, along the same path he came (Just like on a mine field) because the water level doesn't allow to see where the cable is!
And it is very likely it is close to the feet of the person lying on the floor, because once you touch a hot cable you GO DOWN ON THE SPOT!

Darwin Award contestant:
Try for a second time and get another shock, walk towards the feet of the electrocuted person where the likelyhood of touching the cable grows exponentially, WIN THE AWARD!
