On a section of National Highway 37, the rider of a motorcycle, who had a passenger with him, accelerated and attempted to overtake a car travelling in the same direction.

However, during the overtaking manoeuvre, the motorcycle crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with another motorcycle that was also travelling at high speed.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, whilst the other two died in hospital. The victims were aged between 18 and 27.
