Re: Two Killed in NYC After Driver of Speeding, Stolen Car Ploughs Into Sidewalk
Autumn Donna Ascension Romero. Age: 23 Charges: Romero faces a slew of serious charges filed on July 21, 2025, following the crash: Two counts of murder. Manslaughter. Aggravated vehicular homicide. Criminal possession of a weapon. Leaving the scene of an accident. Criminal possession of stolen property. Ascension Romero was freed without bail after a hit-and-run crash in April injured a woman stepping out of an Uber in Brooklyn. Ascension Romero’s sister described her as a hard-working single mother of a 4-year-old boy who would never intentionally harm anyone. Lecraft was ordered held on $300,000 bond during her arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court Monday. Her lawyer declined to comment. Passenger: Kennedy Lecraft. Age 22. Charges: Two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. Criminal possession of stolen property. Unauthorized use of a vehicle. Kevin Scott C, a 55-year-old cycling advocate, was known for his community involvement and was preparing for a bike ride to Coney Island. May K., 63, a Chase Bank manager, was sitting at her usual spot on a bench in Chinatown. Her brother noted she struggled with mental health issues and often left home early in the morning. The intersection at Canal Street and the Bowery is noted for frequent accidents due to the Manhattan Bridge’s highway-like design and a 35 mph speed limit often exceeded by drivers. |

I hope at least one of them, the left one, never sees her right foot again. We need corporeal punishments for such crimes to make sure they can never step on a gas pedal again.
