Two Brothers Stab Their Sister's Husband to Death at Bus Stop
India. Opposed to their sister’s love marriage, two brothers allegedly stabbed her husband, Jagjit S, 22, to death in full public view outside a bus stop. He had allegedly kidnapped a girl from the village Naurangabad about a month ago and married her. The girl's family did not agree to this relationship. Under this enmity, the girl's brothers Jaspreet and Harpreet attacked him outside the bus stand, due to which he died on the spot. |

allegedly kidnapped a girl is what families usally says when filing a complaint at the police station but in this case, and many others, she was run away with the guy and married him to escape a forced marriage by their family. So the family takes revenge as they traditionally arrange marriages and expect to choose who their children marry like in this Punjab area and has to do with what caste, religion or economic background the other belongs to. Both returned 4 days after their marriage as the girl's mother asked him/them to meet her at the bus station to talk things through. He thought this would be a peaceful happening but her two sons were ambushing him (the mother knew) and stabbed him 83 times. |
