Turkish Guy Self Immolated
  Abdullah Cihat Turan P., 28, posed for pictures with tourists while holding a scythe in front of the Turkish city's medieval Galata Tower yesterday. Then all of a sudden he doused himself in petrol and set himself alight. |

I gotta give props to that little kid, man  . I mean, you could feel the love in that moment, and just the maturity, so much so that a mere gesture stopped a grown man in his tracks. "No, dad, I don't want you to get burnt. I don't want you to die. Stay behind me, I'll protect you."Any other kid would have been a gibbering wreck, but not him. |

he told his family, "I'm going to Istanbul to commit suicide,". He has previously made numerous attempts to harm himself. He called his family before the incident saying , "I'm going to set myself on fire." Pekpak has been experiencing marital problems with his family due to his self-harming behavior and actions. While his family argues that Pekpak needs psychological treatment, the 28-year-old has repeatedly refused this request. Pekpak reportedly has a criminal record including psychological problems as well as numerous offenses such as theft and property damage. Gökhan Özdemir, who intervened using a fire extinguisher, stated, " At first, we thought it was an illusion show, so we didn't intervene and waited for the fire to go out. After waiting a while, it turned into a ball of fire. I grabbed the fire extinguisher and intervened."  · |
