The commentator on the video was completely off base. The lion was not "attacking" the kid at all. It was more of a playful grab. His friends only made matters worse by pulling on him. Had it really attacked him he would not be alive to tell about it. You don't get off with "minor injuries" (as stated on the video) when a lion attacks you. Nor does the lion let go after a few seconds and leave you alone.

Having his foot stepped on definitely made the lion's annoyances list. He just gave the kid a friendly "don't do that again, bud" admonition, conveyed by a little grab and pull.
