Re: Tucson Police Smoke Dude Aiming Gun at K9

Police man are not officers. Only elected officials to an office are officers. In military service, commission and noncommission are also officers. Police are a civilian law enforcement agents of a police department. All who are not ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY, and who do NOT answer to the Uniform Code of MILITARY Justice, ARE CIVILIANS including police ,deputies to a sheriff department or troopers.
I understand, but don't be mad, in Mexico its the same. But anyways as an ex-military I refer the police as "officials" as a respect form. Even more before watching a great performance in an action moment, like this.

As an military you should know better...There is a huge difference between a military officer and a police men/woman.

Re: Tucson Police Smoke Dude Aiming Gun at K9

You have no idea what you are talking about. An OFFICER is a sworn government official holding a position of command or authority given by the government which includes armed services and Merchant Marine personnel (Command Authority) and Law Enforcement Officers and Bailiffs (LE Authority).
Police are not officers. Police have limited authority only in their jurisdiction. If you do not brake any law, police have no authority to command anything. Are you denying it? When you write government. Did you forget to clarify police are civil servants working for local government (city) or county? Many workers fall under this umbrella.
Furthermore, If you are going to copy and paste a site's information word by word, it is proper to cite from which site you copy the information. Police are not officers. You know it.

Merchant Marines are U.S. military, subject to The Uniform Code of Military Justice. Police, troopers, Bailiffs, sheriff, and many others do not fall under this category.

The "police officer" definition has never existed according to the current webster dictionary: https://www.merriam-webster.com/
