It’s not uncommon to accidentally break a rib or two while giving CPR - learnt that in my First Aid Course.

My 1st CPR instructor said, we can fix a broken bone but we can't fix dead. Still a pisser hearing a 90 y/o demented lady's ribcage cracking during compressions because the family won't make her a DNR.
