The trucks are inline to unload at a grain pit. You can see the auger towards the end of the video. The truck in front wasn't directly over the grate when the belly dump was pulled thus his reasoning for backing up to be better aligned with the pit. Which he failed at doing because the pit worker was trying to shut the belly dump when the other guys were screaming at the driver to pull forward. The guy in charge of the pit should've been spotting for the driver before he backed up so he's to blame also. |

Or if the truck had been parked right behind the other truck. It was in that perfect spot. And he was there at that perfect time. It’s so inane. Things like this alwyas remind me to be aware of my surroundings when I’m out and working. Someone else’s negligence can cause my death. In less then a minute that dude went from working his job to dead. Gotta be carful out there

Re: Trucker Getting into His Cabin Squeezed by Tractor Trailer Slowly Rolling Back
I don't think you understand. It's one of those things I suppose that can happen either way depending on a matter of millimeters. If the door bends and the trailer isn't actually against you and the door jam. But pushing against the front of the door and your body is caught in the rear of the door. The door can flex and bend. So the weight of the trailer is pushing against the door which flexes and bends so the weight transfers to the next part of the vehicle. Whether that's the rocker panel, or the hinges or truck body. There's not much to a vehicle door these days. And if the door was made of rubber he would have just slipped out of it granted the truck stopped exactly how it did in this video. Because it appears he's not being smashed by the trailer itself. But by the trailer pushing the door closed. It's hard to explain but the trailer isn't pushing on the same part of the door that smashing him. I'm not saying he shouldn't be hurt or possibly die. But I also think it's something that a person could survive. |
