Well, I understand the "Faraday Cage" effect also protects you if you are inside a car that is struck by lightning. The energy will pass AROUND you, and thus spare you the smoke and flash. |

I also believe your are supposed to jump, try to have both feet touch the ground at the same time and shuffle away. |

If your going to leave the vehicle to avoid burning to death, JUMP out both feet at a time. Land far enough away from the sources of electricity do NOT fall back onto the truck.
