Truck Crashes on Road Below Hitting a Bus and a Truck
A fatal traffic accident occurred last Friday on the Panamericana Sur highway, heading south-north, passing through the Tambillo sector, in the Mejía canton, very close to Quito. A truck that was apparently traveling at excessive speed went off course on a curve and flew into the oncoming lane below, colliding with an intercity bus carrying passengers. The accident left five people injured and two dead at the scene. After the crash, the truck's cab was destroyed, and the victims were apparently on board. Blocks of rubble lay scattered around the crash site. |

There are a couple of highway overpasses near where I live - every time I drive under them I wonder if a semi truck will ever come flying off of one sometime. I've spent too much time on this site.

YES. And god forbid I say one of my thoughts out loud "that would be fucked if a semi truck came flying off this overpass while we're stopped at a light halfway under it". My boyfriend looks at me like I have a third eye ball. When I'm weed eating the ditch out by the road next to my house, every time hear a car approach, I hope it doesn't veer off course and smack into me.

i too am always whipping up scenarios like that in my head, @W.M.... ...part of this is because i have OCD and i am essentially feeding it "what-ifs" every time i visit this site. you could say i'm pretty fucking cautious. my family members are prone to this as well so at least i have a few people to talk to about it with... |
