Training Parachutist Dies when Dust Devil Causes Him to Crash into Mountainside
This is the moment a parachutist becomes caught in a ‘dust devil’ tornado and is sent fatally crashing to the ground at high speed. The incident happened as father-of-two A.H.P, 41, was training with a parachutist club in Turkey. In the video, A.H.P, an English teacher, can be seen jumping off a mountainside and being taken to a reported height of 20 metres.  He then becomes caught in swirling winds which was a dust devil and his parachute partially closes. He manages to move out of the dust devil and reopen the parachute but he soon becomes caught in the winds again and he is sent falling towards the ground at high speed after the left side of his parachute closes. He cannot stop himself crashing into the mountainside and an ambulance was called but paramedics could only confirm that he had died at the scene. Police have launched an investigation into the incident which is ongoing. He leaves behind a wife and two children |

Ugh and here I am with skydiving (which surprisingly my mom wants to do with me lol) on my bucket list.  How common are crashes like this due to weather????? |

The two are different beasts, though I'd say skydiving from a plane has less of a chance of things like this happening. Your first jump will most likely be with someone strapped to you anyway who has done 1000+ jumps. You'll be okay.
