~ The tractor's turning tredgers got snagged in the toughly rooted plants which forced the tractor to overturn. The driver overestimated his ability to recover, because of the muddiness.

Those are stomping wheels for forcing rice straw to mix up and pack in the mud. It's a greener alternative to burning it which creates enormous amounts of smoke. I drive the eight wheeled articulated version of one of these every season after rice harvest. The guy that farms the property next to ours ran over one of his workers with one of these when they were starting the tractor and the guy was on the wheel. I saw it happen but didn't know anyone was killed until the owner ran over to my boss and I screaming for help. It really sucked because I knew the kid that got ran over fairly well. |
