Monteiro said the zip line operator’s failure of providing equipment such as a helmet and a vest played a part in Lima’s death. “It was precisely the cause of death – Sergio (Lima) died of brain trauma,” Monteiro said. According to the lawyer, Lima questioned one of the zip line station workers about the cable line’s sturdiness before he was hooked to the harness. “Before boarding, he asked the zip line employee, ‘Can it handle my weight? Look, I weigh 352 pounds,’” Monteiro said. I guess he thought the zip line worker had a degree in Mechanical engineering.  |
