Tourist Drowns in the Arabian Sea Being Swept Away by Wave when Taking a Selfie
Four tourists from Tamil Nadu went to enjoy at a rocky patch in the waters at Siquerim beach near Fort Aguada in North Goa yesterday morning, police said. As they were clicking pictures on their phones while sitting on rocks, one of them got swept away in the strong sea waves and drowned, police said. The deceased was identified as Sasikumar Vasan (33). In another case 28-year-old Dinesh Kumar Ranganathan – a resident of Vellore in Tamil Nadu - also drowned when he was clicking selfies along with two other tourists near a rocky stretch adjoining a creek, which empties into the sea at Baga beach in North Goa. After the police conducted the inquest procedure in both the cases, the bodies were shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital near here for postmortem, Dalvi added. On June 16, a 12-year-old boy snapping photos on tetrapods at Mumbai’s Marine Drive fell into the sea and drowned. In June last year, a 17-year-old girl drowned while taking selfies during high tide at Marine Drive. India reports the highest number of selfie deaths in the world.  |

Drowning is number 3 on my list of the worst possible ways to die, preceded by burning alive, number 1 is being dismembered whilst fully alive and conscious by a Spanish speaking lunatic x
