When returning from a visit to an inmate at the prison facility, three women were shot and killed at the main entrance of Lomas de San Juan del Sector The Carmen.
Family of two of the victims who arrived at the scene identified women as Yanina (22) and Miriam (22), the third was only identified as Yohana.
The women were attacked and killed by several persons traveling in a green CRV SUV, according to the police report.
César Johnson, spokesman for the National Police, said both Yanina as Miriam had criminal records. "Yanina was held in the detention center eight months in 2010, because she tried to introduce drugs into the penitentiary, then she left there with alternative penalty while Miriam remained imprisoned the same year for another crime, ".
Police research indicated that the women were persecuted by criminals since they left the detention center, but were assured that investigations to determine the causes of attack.
Yanina was in the city center buying a uniform for kindergarten for her four year old kid, while Miriam bought a tricycle for one of her two sons, four years old.
The bodies of women were a few meters from each other.
Police found at least 15 shell casings of different calibers .The bodies were taken by the authorities to the morgue.
