Three-Vehicle Crash on Taiwanese Highway Results in Three Dead
Miaoli County, Taiwan On National Freeway No.1, a 45-year-old man, surnamed Jiang, was driving a van carrying three passengers toward Taoyuan International Airport when it collided with a Tesla, driven by a 36-year-old woman, Li. Both drivers got out to survey the damage. Shortly afterwards, a Volvo sedan, driven by a 51-year-old woman, Lin, struck the pair from behind at high speed. It is thought Lin might have been relying on her car's adaptive cruise control system and failed to notice the stopped vehicles. Jiang and one of the passengers in the van, a 62-year-old Filipino woman, was killed at the scene. Li briefly regained a pulse after emergency treatment but died the following day. The cause of death for all three was confirmed as traumatic shock and excessive haemorrhage from severe limb trauma. Prosecutors were unable to take a formal statement from Lin, who was in shock and repeatedly said she did not know or could not recall details of the crash. No bail or travel restrictions were imposed on her as she recovers. |

Unless there was some reason they couldn't move those vehicles, the smart thing would've been to agree to drive to the nearest exit where they could continue their friendly little conversation. Why they would continue to stand in the middle of a busy highway is beyond me.  |

Why would you ever pullover and stand on a busy road where you just crashed knowing full well Chinese people can’t drive or see or remember or take accountability?

Always stand IN the lane, between the stopped cars or otherwise NOT on the side out of the way where you might survive something like this. Always.
