Three Dead After Two Buses Collide on Peruvian Road
Cercado de Lima, Lima, Peru Three people died and twenty were injured after a public transport minibus (known locally as a 'cúster') veered into the exclusive lane of the Metropolitano bus system and collided with one of its units. The Deputy Commander of the Central Lima Fire Department confirmed to the media that one of the deceased is the driver of the cúster. He also specified that all three deceased were men. The minibus had a valid permit and technical insurance, but had accumulated nine traffic fines, totalling around US$6,400 in penalties. The vehicle had entered the exclusive Metropolitano lane, an action that will be evaluated through a technical inspection. |
