Three Dead After Crane Collapses During Festival
Three people died and nine were injured when a crane that was flying overhead collapsed during a festival in Ranipet district, in India's Tamil Nadu state.

One of the victims was selling ice on the ground and was crushed by the crane.

Any reason why it fell over? It didn't look like the load was swaying enough to rock it over. They use those weird carry cranes in India, haven't seen elsewhere in the world.

Any reason why it fell over? It didn't look like the load was swaying enough to rock it over. They use those weird carry cranes in India, haven't seen elsewhere in the world.
They're not intended to drive around with a load. They should be stationary with outriggers out. If they want to move the load, they do it by extending the boom.
