A serious accident involving two trucks resulted in the deaths of three people on the BR-415 highway, in the stretch between Ilhéus and Itabuna. The incident occurred whilst it was raining heavily.

According to the brewery company:

The truck from our fleet left the Distribution Center in Itabuna heading toward Ilhéus, and after about 14 km, it was hit by the rear of another truck coming from the opposite direction, which lost control, skidded, and veered into the opposite lane. The company fleet truck tried to swerve onto the shoulder, but its cabin ended up being hit head-on by the rear of the other vehicle, resulting in the death of its three occupants.

The three deceased were 21-year-old Pedro E.A.d.S.L., 49-year-old Adnejar A.S.F., and 44-year-old José C.M.d.J.

The driver of the other truck took a breathalyser test, and tested negative. Due to the accident, several crates of drinks were scattered across the highway.
