It all depends, the first droplets of molten plastic solidify and could shield the skin from the higher temperature of the burning plastic falling on top of them, of course there will be spots when the plastic crust will be thinner and less protective but he will be in need of skin grafts anyway. The injuries will be substantial nevertheless, I expect thisrd degree burns in over 80 percent of his palms with deep necrotic tissue. Not a good day for the poor dude. |

Amputation will likely be required. That melting plastic will solidify when cooled and become part of the hand. Removing it would require precise surgical procedure. I doubt that kind of care is available in his 3rd world country. This would all be Followed by a dangerous infection. Yikes don't steal kiddies !!!! |
