Well, judging by what I found in the media, you can't blame the red shirts for revolting. The newly elected government wants "a government that is pro-monarchy and looks after the interests of the urban elite rather than those of the countryside". To be honest, who wouldn't be pissed of as a rural poor? Oh and btw, if the thai government really wanted to defuse the situation, they would have agreed to the cease-negotiations proposed by the red shirt leadership a couple of days ago.
