I've always wondered how long you're aware after putting a bullet in your brain like this. I mean, I doubt its immediately "lights out" for every single person. There has to have been plenty of folks who were a little conscious/aware for a minute or 2 after, wondering "what the fuck have I done". I once read an article written by a guy who tried to kill himself by jumping off of a bridge One quote from it will always stay with me: "The second my hands left that railing, I immediately realized that all of the problems in my life could be fixed -- except for the fact that I had just jumped off that bridge."

It took a decision that he could never take back to make him realize just how temporary all of the things which led him to that decision truly were.
