I don`t get it. My 3rd trip to Israel and Jerusalem was just this past June. I had no problems with anyone and it was the holy month of Ramadan. Every day I was going though Damascus into the old city ( it`s the Muslim quarter ) but it was closest access to old city from my hotel. Everybody was calm, no fighting. But I will say that when I am in Israel, I will NOT take public transportation with the exception of taxis.
