Well, if only a man died, then I'd say it's safe to assume there was only one man in the SUV. Not only was it demolished, but it drove right over the majority of the debree, so it is likely that any occupants of the vehicle would have been squashed under the big rig wheels.

A center median or gaurd rail would have prevented the death, or not driving too so fast on bad roads with shitty tires.

Damn, this is pretty bad, the Nissan slips on the ice then crashes head on into a tractor trailer. Apparently they only found his leg after the crash.

A story I found:

Summary of Traffic Police: An accident on the road M-7 in near the village of Omutischi, February 24 2012 a driver of Nissan Navara - Moscow resident born in 1980, lost control and hit a van resulting his Nissan Navara skidding into oncoming traffic and colliding with a heavy truck head on. The SUV driver died at the scene

The driver of Lada Kalina (driving next to the heavy truck, barely avoiding collision) suffered minor injuries.

The blow shattered the Nissan into pieces. The body of the driver was harvested in parts.

Here's a short video from the aftermath. Someone driving past the accident scene and you can see the destroyed Nissan Navara in the ditch.
