Termibulatov 1996 VHS Killings
This is a clip from a russian newscast I found describing Termibulatov's arrest and trial. Termibulatov [aka 'Tractor', from his time on a collectivist farm before the fall of the soviet union] is believed to be the man also responsible for the 'Daghestan Massacre'. The clip shows him being hauled out of a helicopter by [what I presume to be] Spetznas operatives. The evidence used to put him away for life was another videotaped killing of captured Russian soldiers taken in 1996. [I would guess that it is because that video seems to show Termibulatov himself executing a soldier.] |

Re: Termibulatov 1996 VHS Killings
Great post. FWIW, I don't believe he was involved in the Dagestan massacre, that one of those things that gets spread around a lot as these different beheading videos/killers from that conflict get confused a lot. The clip of him standing in front of two guys tied up and laying down, one of them was beheaded and the other one was shot in the head (which is shown later in the video). The other shots of him standing around with captured soldiers is earlier in the same situation, IIRC. I've seen rumors that he died in prison (not hard to believe obviously) but never any confirmation of it. |

Re: Termibulatov 1996 VHS Killings
He was not involved in daghestan massacre, he was accidentally caught for something else, then investigators showed him this VHS tape as example, and he told to investigators that he did' not wanted to kill soldiers, this is how investigators found out that HE was in that tape.

Re: Termibulatov 1996 VHS Killings
Yes, that "something else" is exactly what we see in the video: it's him executing a prisoner, and the only crime that he confessed to (he later even showed where the bodies had been buried) despite he was charged with 24 different crimes. The video was handled to russian special forces by "loyal" Chechens in 1997, they had recognized him as the only non-bearded man in the video and commander in chief of that unit. When he was caught, he had still the tractor driver licence, btw |

Re: Termibulatov 1996 VHS Killings
It's a copy made from a VHS copy + the web video-players lossy compression; it would be MUCH surprising (and suspect) if it was a good quality video.
