Re: Teens Play Chicken with a Train
I’ve heard people talk about this before, about how daredevils like this, especially ones that do these kinds of tricks, never consider how much the train overhangs on its sides. These are some seriously wide locomotives. Major overhanging. When he was tryna lool cool for the camera that was the last thing on his mind

Re: Teens Play Chicken with a Train
Trains can sneak up and suck you off! On the platforms here (suburban Chicago) they have a yellow line painted several feet from the edge. Trains here can go 75+ mph and they create a wind or suction that has pulled in people and killed them. So the yellow line is where you shouldn't go lest a train sneaks up and sucks you off (the platform). In this case something was hanging off the train, maybe a board or steel beam. In that part of the world they probably aren't careful about safe loads and if they loose a bit of cargo in tunnels or under bridges or hitting buildings, vehicles or pedestrians, no big deal.... |

Re: Teens Play Chicken with a Train
Jesus shit! I watched it again. That crazy fucker stepped out of the train path when it was about 7 feet away. I can't believe he lived long enough to get hit by a protrusion if he did that very often. They shouldn't fuck with train engineers when they play 'chicken' and get killed. Do it like Americans, race in cars towards each other at high speed, if nobody is chicken, everyone dies. Or race towards a cliff like in this video, whoever bails out first is the chicken: |

Re: Teens Play Chicken with a Train
It appeared that after he stepped away from the train, having succeeded at the actual game of chicken, he began to backup towards the train, then bam, the train had a trick up its choo choo. |

Re: Teens Play Chicken with a Train
I call that cheating, pieces of steel sticking out of the sides of the train should not be allowed in the chicken play with trains, only head on hits should count.

Re: Teens Play Chicken with a Train
Reminded me of the wheelchair assassins from David Foster Wallace's novel Infinite Jest lol. Being the last on the tracks meant you had the biggest cajones while being the first to jump was disgraceful, so some of the kids would simply refuse to get off the tracks first. |
