Teenager Threatens to Jump From Cliff, Parents Try to Save Him - All Three Die
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, India A 19-year-old man, Kunal, had bought an iPhone, and had been trying to persuade his parents to pay for his monthly instalment plans. This led to a heated argument with his father, Murlidhar, over the latest payment. At around 10am, Kunal went to a cliff besides a stone quarry and threatened to kill himself. His parents, villagers, and police personnel spent nearly three hours trying to persuade him to come away from the edge. Fire service personnel attempted to spread a safety net at the base of the hill, but the boy kept moving along the cliff edge, making the rescue effort difficult. At around 1pm, Murlidhar tried to grab his son away from the edge. However, this caused Kunal to fall from the edge, and Murlidhar followed him down to their deaths. Kunal's mother, Sangeeta, witnessed it all and, a few seconds later, fell down the cliff face as well - whether it was accidental or suicidal is unclear. |

She fully took the plunge on her own accord. She didn’t fall, she jumped. Just lost her family and couldn’t go home alone to an empty house. I probably would have too had it been me and my family. Talk about having a shitty day. I fully get that the kid was already lost over bullshit but from a mother’s perspective she just lost everything. With their spiritual beliefs she went with them.  |
