Re: Teenager Shot In Syria Takes Final Breaths
Sort of like the Canadians and Aussies did? Oh wait, they didn't did they? Can you look at a Canuck and say his ancestors didn't die for freedom? If not, then those idiots in the Amercian Revolution died for nothing or worse. Canadians have more freedom than Americans, so it was not only a waste for them to die in the Revolution but harmful to future generations. BTW, I would like to take credit for this argument, but it belongs to Dalton Trumbo. Expand your perspective and read the novel Johnny Got His Gun. Love and peace |

Re: Teenager Shot In Syria Takes Final Breaths
That is too easy. Never mind that American males must register for the draft, or that Americans are not guaranteed the basics rights of the social contract like health care, or that they have all sorts of limitations on sexual behavior, just consider the percent of prisoners verses civilized countries. Even a right wing rag like The New York Times acknowledges that lack of freedom: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/23/wo....12253738.html Being locked up is definitely a limitation on your freedom. BTW, I guess that you read the Wikipedia summary of Trumbo’s novel, or you would know that it is impossible for you to know what “joe Bonham or two” thinks. The whole point of the novel is that it is impossible for him to communicate his thoughts to anyone. The novel ends with him denied the opportunity to tell people what he has figured out. If you know guys who got injured fighting for that draft dodger Chaney’s gang, and they are not as badly off as Joe Bohnom and you can talk with them, ask them the question Cindy Sheehan chased that draft dodger Bush around the country trying to get an answer for. They got hurt to help invade and massacre innocent civilians. It didn’t help them or me or you. It did make Chaney super rich though. Even if we had more freedom than Canadians, is it worth dying for? Do you think the guys dying thought so? Do you think that they died like that draft dodging fat-ass John Wayne did in the movies, happy to spill their blood for old glory or did they die crying for their mothers and their girlfriends? BE REAL! Nothing is worth dying for, I think. |

Re: Teenager Shot In Syria Takes Final Breaths
Do you know what a fucking domino effect is ,your talking an area where nuclear weaponry is available, one or two of these countries fall into the wrong hands while we are here keeping the home depot parking lot clear for you, then we are all in the shit. We need to be involved with who steps in if a government in that region falls. How about financially should we sit on the sidelines there? If greece defaults on it's debts to europe which right now is a whisper away from happening, one country after the other will go down. Then you won't have to worry about our borders, we will be going to mexico looking for work. There are a lot of countries you think have as you say "Fuck all" to do with us that may have fuck all to do with one of our allies who may have fuck all to do with us.
