If your country cannot afford traffic lights at major intersections, then you'd better be an expert at traversing seamlessly through incoming traffic, or you're fucked-dead—especially at the speeds displayed here.

P.S. Why they don't at least treat these as 4-way stops is beyond me.

At least slow the fuck down, look around for incoming traffic as-if-your-life-depended-on-it, plan your crossing and adjust speed accordingly—and you have a better chance to make it through in one piece.

Very sad events. The semi was speeding and ran over the red light. Puerto Barrios is a big central American city. The seen of the accident occurred on calle 20 and carretera 409. The semi was traveling west bound when it ran over the moped traveling south bound on carretera 409.There are traffic lights with left hand arrows. The light post were blue with yellow at the bottom the last time I was in the area. Actually the is a major intersection in the city. Highway 409 travels from Puerto Barrios all the way to Guatemala city. Puerto Barrios and Livingston are the two major areas for people to take care of administrative documents. For people going into Rio Dulce, Puerto Barrios is a place to conduct and transfer boat titles.
