The girl, identified as 17-year-old Y.A.G.O., is believed to have been shot at least five times, and was identified at the scene by her aunt. Y. hailed from Colombia, and her murder is believed to have been orchestrated by a gang that operates in the San Blas neighbourhood.

Thanks for putting this up. I was following the story last night and decided to wait for an ID before uploading (in hopes of an antemortem image and confirmation of details) , as there were several conflicting accounts across the various groups on T.

Actually, it looks like your source had erroneous information. The story is essentially correct, but the initials are not. I confirmed a different name with two local sources and my follow-up through social media matched the name to this girl (same age that you indicated).

Sometimes a name match isn't very effective in South America, but the facial features on this one are a dead-ringer for the girl in the video, so with a doubly-verified name and (what is to me) a very positive facial match, I'll add these here. If you disagree, I can take them down, but I suspect you'll also see the unmistakable resemblance in facial structure and build. I'm about 95% sure this is the decedent.

Thanks. It took some work. And, to be fair, Crux's source is usually very solid and reliable. One of the best from the area. I just happened to catch this one early in real time and wound up interfacing with a friend of the family who knew the aunt. Sometimes relatives/friends are impossible to get info from and sometimes they're all over it. This one was chatty AF. I corroborated with another journalist who gave the same name, which was enough for me to justify spending the time digging.

I always feel a case here, even a single video or photo is 'incomplete' without antemortems, so I have been known to put in some long hours and deep digging to run them down.

There were three name matches for this victim, but once I saw this one (as well as noting several Black Ribbon profile changes in her friends list), I felt it was absolutely a match. Sometimes impossible to note specific features and dead bodies can look like completely different people, but I really felt that this one was a perfect likeness.

And once I found that, I was able to confirm with several of her family members that she is, in fact, the girl in the video.
