Wow, I never thought about what made the human body on concrete "splat" sound. Your pulverization / gelatinous cube goo model is interesting. A 320 pound water balloon or even a large water filled thick rubber storage bladder would probably not make such as loud sound. We will have to have a Documenting Reality Lab Day at an amusement park drop ride and test different falling gelatinous objects with a sound meter. We could also test the "gap extrusion" theory.

While being virtuous is lovely, nobody knows how to react to things like this. They don't teach those things in school. Anyone who witnessed that is sure to be experiencing trauma in all possible ways.
I'm not playing mouth to mouth with someone that's clearly dead, and I highly doubt any of the witnesses were trained to "help" pavement pizza.
I'm sad they died like that, but maybe we can be grateful he might not have felt any pain, or even knew what happened.
