Here is a picture of him on the ride. His sheer size is probably the issue here. Normally these locking arms need to fasten down three "clicks", I have a hard time imagining this was locked in the third position just looking at this angle.

Jesus fucking hell, poor kid.

I could've died back in 1999, when I was 15/16. I was on Oblivion at Alton Towers + it had just started moving when I realised that the safety belt + whatnot was not clicked into place. Thank fuck I noticed in time!
