Re: Teenage Boy Killed by Drop Tower in Orlando, Florida
you realize it doesn't matter the amount of "smart assed" talk from riders, the crew still has to check every seatbelt beforehand. the fact they didn't check it was not considered a "Darwinized" death. A lazy crew member or a freak mechanical error. Your ignorance to whos responsibility it would be, is startling. I won't be surprised when your smart assed comments come back with information from an investigation to point you out as a fool. the same kind of fool you didn't check his seat belt.

Re: Teenage Boy Killed by Drop Tower in Orlando, Florida
so you think your supposed to hold on in order not to fall off an amusement park ride? lol or is your comment completely satirical. I'm hoping satirical to keep my faith in humanity just a tad bit more |

My heart breaks for the kid and his family. Just hanging out having some fun with friends during spring break and your life ends in the blink of an eye.

Re: Teenage Boy Killed by Drop Tower in Orlando, Florida
I don't know that they necessarily worried about him. Most rides the concern is being too small to ride. I know this kid was very big, but he is the size of a pretty good sized normal adult male. I can see why the ride operators may not have been concerned. I know where the parents are now, they are shopping for a Bentley because that park and their insurance company are going to have to pay out the nose. |

Re: Teenage Boy Killed by Drop Tower in Orlando, Florida
Interestingly enough, you can tell his seat is not locked into place if you look closely, it is too far out of an angle to be locked securely. And the crowd points out that the "crew" staff member didn't properly check all the seats, at least the "guy on the left" I wonder if they were specifically referring to the kid, and even if not, it still shows the negligence because if strangers in the crowd noticed seats not being secured...something is seriously fucked. This made my heart jump into my throat. RIP |

Re: Teenage Boy Killed by Drop Tower in Orlando, Florida
You can clearly see the guys harness isn't latched closed. As big as he is, with all the velocity and speed you can kind of assume from the video, when he's high up with his feet dangling, you can see him slipping out.. I'm guessing that combined with the speed and velocity pushing up the unlocked harness/top piece thing, he slid right out and pretty much died on impact.
