He was 14 :( and apparently, he exceeded the weight limit for this ride by at least 50 pounds. It may sound tedious but if this ride opens again, maybe weigh passengers that might be too big. I do not think his harness was secured at any time and that is the park's negligence. It's definitely their responsibility to ensure each passenger is able to safely ride. Rest in Peace T. S. |

Reading the fathers statements makes it sound like the crew or personnel coached him to get on, with his sons comments about second guessing. I would be too much of a chicken to sit through my first thought of "is this safe?" I would of gotten off.

Why do you have to remove your tied-on shoes for this ride? Is that some TSA bullshit? I can see having a rule where flip flops or anything loose has to be left on the ground before you go up but shoes are not going to fly off. One guy’s shoes became part of the crime scene so I would imagine he was walking around in his socks on the concrete (shudders) to leave the park. |
