One of the articles I read said that this was the only ride he had been allowed to get on at the park because of his height/weight (6’5”/340). I was a little perplexed that the ride attendant let him ride because right away you can see his restraint is too far out. It’s not tight against him. Agree with you. Rides have height limits for patrons that are too small for a particular ride because they can't be properly secured. Same should apply for too big. The person who walks around ensuring each person is "clicked in" should have notice he was simply too big for the ride. I get that could be an embarrassing moment to be asked to disembark but that's better than being splattered all over the ground.

Adding after this happened to an obese woman at Six Flags Texas, major theme parks have a weight restriction now. I've seen many do the walk of shame not being able to fit safely and securely in the seats.
