As you can read earlier in this thread, I instantly thought of the Dnepropetrovsk maniacs as well. Since the russian police're still carrying out investigations in 16 other similar cases (the boys have admitted to 4 killings so far), it's still a huge lack of information (google translate gives me more frustration and confusion than information). But already I can see very much similarity between the 3guys1hammer-guys and these guys. They attacked people who couldn't fight back, they filmed themselves abusing one of their victims, they used a hammer and a knife while killing (Dnepropetrovsk maniacs used a screwdriver instead of a knife though) etc. I'm not going to go all criminologist-nuts here. Sorry if you think I've done so already, but I can't help myself.

And for those who seem to think that something as sick and disturbing could only happen in the former soviet union, and never in their "land of the free" (aka US). Use google and search for Bob Berdella.

I don't think you went all criminologist-nuts. I have a degree in criminology and a masters in criminal justice and I think you have a good hypothesis. Part of my book is about the "maniacs" and I'm having the same problem as you finding good information about the case. If you come up with anything good message me the link.
