A man shot on a platform inside the Anacostia Metro Station Tuesday afternoon died Wednesday, the Metropolitan Police Department said.

He was shot once in the head at point blank range, after shaking hands with a teen gang member.
The victim, 49-year-old M. C. of Southwest D.C., was shot multiple times about 1:35 p.m. and was taken to a hospital in very serious condition.

The entire shooting was caught on camera, and it is frightening. In the video the two males seem to be friendly. At one point M. reaches over and "daps up" the teen.

But the teen had other plans it seems. When M. let down his guard, the teen pulled a gun and shot him multiple times in the head.

D.C. police homicide detectives are investigating.

There's one person calling someone on a phone, and another couple moving quickly in the other opposite direction of the gun/shooter.

Bystander effect is a big city thing, pretty much where ever you live. Heard it's even worst in China, due to cultural reasons.

That man was very kind to the woman after, walking her past, probably telling her not to look. I needed him with arm around my shoulder while I watched it over and over again.

Holy Crap!
I have traveled on the DC Metro trains hundreds of times, and I never felt safer in my life. There are cops EVERYWHERE in that system, on all the trains, at all the stations, even on the stairs that go into the stations.
I wonder how the guy got away. Everything is on video, and they should have been able to grab him just by watching where he went, and telling cops at the exit gate to nab him.
I don't understand how he got out of the station successfully.
