Have you ever been in the Anacostia area or SE DC? Formerly the murder capital of the US. The environment there is much different than any other metro station in the city. I experienced two separate incidences driving in I295 - Anacostia Freeway... our car was shot at one day... and three years later someone was chucking wooden railroad ties. They hit 40-something cars before running off, including landing one right at the top of my front windshield where it meets the metal. Our sunroof was slightly open and my infant daughter in the back seat. From that point on we just went around the area on the beltway. We were ok, our car was not. Scary.
