A private school teacher, Sandhya, aged around 30, was fatally stabbed outside her classroom by a man whose face was covered with a white cloth.

The man, who had been stalking Sandhya, had entered through the main gate, waited briefly, and asked staff to call for Sandhya, saying "Vicky" (Sandhya's husband) had come to see her. When Sandhya came out, the man dragged her and stabbed her repeatedly (around 20 to 27 times, depending on the source), mainly in the neck and chest. Colleagues who tried to intervene were chased away.

The accused, 21-year-old Amit, was arrested whilst still wearing the blood-stained clothes, and confessed during questioning. Sandhya had previously taught at a school in Amit's village, and the two maintained communications. However, Sandhya had recently severed all ties with Amit, and asked him to stop harassing her.
