I wish that other barber had covered the child with his body instead of stepping aside and almost using the boy as a shield. I know it was in the moment but you could only hope you would respond in a more protective way if it happened to you.

The barber responded in the only sensible way, by stepping away from the victim, and I hope I would have done likewise. There was nothing "protective" to be done, as it was crystal clear that the killer had a specific target and turned to leave as soon as he had accomplished what he came for.
