It is most prob. LNG or similar propane mix. The Liquified means it is under pressure to make it a fluid. They should never have opened a big valve like that holding a presurized highly flammable gas. I checked that the liquid/ gas ratio is 1/270. So these jackasses were opening a valve, without pressure reducing intermediates, holding a gas volume of 30 truckcontainers. +- 12000 m³ of gas in normal conditions methane and ethane burn more blueish than yellow-orange the 2 killed can be these 2 fools, cos they prop. burned their upper airways. I guess they inhaled that propane mix of gas and liquid particles. remember the gas liquid ratio... so there was fuel left in the lungs to keep burning. |

When those gasses are evaporating like that it gets extremely cold. The guys on top of tank were probably frost bitten from flash freezing when it all started. When watching it again and again for very high quality entertainment, you can see lingering vapor fire on the runners. Probably from gasses stuck in their clothing.

This is quickly becoming a most favorite video on this site for me. I’m watching it on loop, one time rooting for runners, the next time rooting for the fire, yelling “get him, get him get him!” And it never disappoints! I play it with various music, everything from Running With The Devil to Loony Tunes theme music. Still, it never disappoints!

Haven't went through the whole post (shame on me) but I think the 2 on the truck collapsed the moment they got down the ladder. The gas would have choked them out. They might not have EVER had a chance actually, the moment that gas started escaping, they might have had enough time but human nature is to try to stop the leak immediately but those few seconds and/or breaths of the absence of air... that's what actually gets you. Don't breathe and run till you can't hold your breath anymore and hope for the best... At 19 seconds on the backend of the tanker view you can see the light shirt guy collapse off the ladder. It's hard to see what happened to the other guy but I think he fell off the truck slightly earlier and probably couldn't get up right away and fainted from the gas maybe all at the same time even. |
