Re: Taliban Sniper, Lucky Man.

Could the guy sitting down yelling move, seen a red dot from a laser on the sniper or something?

Re: Taliban Sniper, Lucky Man.

I think its rather clear it wasn't fake by the fact that the dude was scared shitless to go towards the opening in the first place...over there plenty of places like that get watched for extended periods by snipers and the such. The fat could knew he didn't want to be there and we can all see why.

Re: Taliban Sniper, Lucky Man.

This doesn't look fake. The three soldiers at the far side of the video are inspecting a rifle and magazine. The one wearing an undershirt is handed a rifle, which he then throws into the open area. The one in the camouflage blouse tells him to retrieve the rifle (actually he said "GUN," so definitely not Marines), and starts explaining there was a problem with the magazine.

He seems to be explaining why the rifle had misfired ("this magazine is fucked"). He tells the soldier to retrieve the weapon. The one sitting nearest the camera operator yells, "BOOM!" to startle the soldier who's retrieving the rifle, kinda like yelling boom at a kid lighting a firecracker...

:)

The weapon then fires a round. The one explaining the magazine problem is genuinely startled.

It seems the weapon failed to fire off a chambered round. When a weapon fails to properly CHAMBER a round, it is cleared immediately. When a weapon misfires, or fails to fire, however, standard procedure is to point the weapon downrange, and wait for 10 minutes before attempting to clear the weapon. This is to avoid an accidental discharge of a round that "cooks off," meaning a chambered round's propellant (gunpowder) is heated to ignition by the barrel's or upper receiver's heat, and fires unexpectedly

Two MAJOR mistakes were made:

1. They were inspecting a weapon that hadn't sufficiently cooled off.

2. They didn't have the weapon pointing downrange.

Personally, I think anyone who actually TOSSES his weapon to the ground has no respect for their weapons, and is just BEGGING to get hurt. I'm guessing the weapon failed to fire because it was improperly maintained and/or insufficiently cleaned/lubricated, not unlikely with someone who is as unsafe as these huckleberries...

The round actually hits the stucco wall behind G.I. Joe, and from that distance, it would have blown off a PORTERHOUSE STEAK'S WORTH of muscle/tissue, so I don't think he was actually hit by the round. I'm guessing his elbow/shoulder was torqued by the weapon's "kick" when it fired, since he probably picked it up by the barrel, which was facing toward him.

Lucky kid... He could have lost his arm, head, or sizable chunk of his torso...

Great video, though... Excellent example of how NOT to handle weapons and ammo...

100% correct sir, what brought me to the same conclusion is that sound does not travel as fast as a bullet, therefore if it was indeed a sniper we would first see the shot hit then the sound come later.

This was not a sniper, nor was it faked, it was plain old human disresect for something that could kill him or others or both.

Re: Taliban Sniper, Lucky Man.

Yeah. I will buy Accidental Discharge.

There is something very wrong wrong wrong about throwing a weapon in the dirt like that...and...then picking it up with the muzzle pointing at you and in the direction of others.

He is more of a danger to himself and others than the Taliban.

That guy should be examined medically to ensure that he is ok.

Then...he should be beaten within an inch of his life by the guys he so wrecklessly endangered.
