Brain death and unconsciousness does not correlate with agonal reflexes, heart function, and soforth. That guy didn't feel anything from a combination of the concussive force of the bullet and his midbrain being blown away (evident by the amount of blood being ejected from the exit wound. Peripheral forebrain wounds do not bleed as badly as that, and those can leave a patient with some degree of consciousness). I'd take this death over beheading any day. |
