I've seen a few. Saw one from the Middle East where the killer used a machete and the dude's head came off in about 4 whacks, real quick. It was so fast it almost seemed humane. I'd imagine that a first blow hard enough to sever the spine would be less painful than sawing through front of the neck.

Having seen most of those videos I've always wondered about this. It seems like getting beheaded from behind could be much more comfortable, but it also seems like people have more trouble getting through the spine from the back. There's so many videos like this one where people are sawing at the back of the head for a pretty long period of time and getting nowhere. Often they end up switching to the front and having less issue. If the beheading is relatively swift, having it done from behind has to be far better than sitting there gargling blood for an extra 20 seconds like most of these beheadings go. |
