Re: Suicide at the Gun Range
I have to admit that something like this is a very real concern when the club I am a member of hosts an open evening (there are 9 ranges, but the outdoor ones cannot be used after sundown +0.5h), and I'm tapped to be an RSO for the event. Even though the non-members need to have someone within arms reach at all times, it still means that there are a bunch of people I don't know, who I have never seen use a firearm, and who I know nothing about them. I've seen several videos like this, and there's almost no time to stop someone in this situation. The two idiots who were posing with a handgun for selfies from a few months ago, and one of the idiots points his pistol at his friends head...that you have a chance to stop. This? Just not enough time. |

Re: Suicide at the Gun Range
The same thing happened at a shooting range in my town about in Oct 2017. With a rented gun. So now the shooting range prohibits anyone from firing a rented firearm if they are alone. One morning, I woke up and found my bf unresponsive. He had passed away about an hour before and I thought that was traumatic! I really feel for the employees and other customers who had to witness that. So sad. |

Re: Suicide at the Gun Range
My indoor range will rent to someone who comes in alone if they brought their own firearm with them. If they are a Kumbaya off the street that wants to rent a gun, no fucking way.
